Not content with photographs of their charity-inspired striptease at Bank Station appearing in local press, Icap broker Johnny Black and fintech headhunter Chris Mike have posted a video of their near-naked exploits on video-sharing Web site YouTube.
The two strutted their stuff to publicise their forthcoming charity race to the North Pole. They have formed Team Bearing 360 North to compete in the 400-mile race and raise vital funds for Orchid, a male cancer charity dedicated to fighting prostate and testicular cancer.
The North Pole detail was missed by a sub-editor at London newspaper City AM, who gave a photo of the two wearing little but their backpacks and snow goggles the headline "Bankers swim for charity". Even with global warming allegedly shrinking the ice caps, that would still be some feat.
Competitors in the Polar Challenge, which commences in April 2007 in Canada, and ends in May 2007 at the North Pole, will have to endure temperatures of up to minus 50°C, as well as face 80% of the world's polar bear population. Mike says the team is "essentially freezing our nuts off to save yours, your families', your friends'".
Before they leave on this epic journey, the duo are hosting a 'Bearing All' £100-a-head fund-raising dinner on Thursday 22 March at Bank Aldwych. More information can be found at the charity team's website.
